Congratulations—being accepted into NIMAA is a big first step! This guide outlines what you need to know and do next as you move toward enrollment. Over the coming weeks, you’ll start receiving important information and tasks to complete, including setting up your student accounts and submitting required documents. It’s a busy time, and things will move quickly, so staying organized and paying close attention to communication from NIMAA is key to starting off strong.
What You Need to Do Next
1. Make sure you receive all NIMAA emails
Add @nimaa.edu and @populi.co to your contacts or safe senders list to make sure messages don't end up in your spam folder. Be sure to read emails from NIMAA and from your externship organization.
2. Check your email regularly
Both NIMAA and your externship organization will send you important information and may contact you at any time, and timely communication is important for staying on track.
Once all of your enrollment documents and background check are complete, you'll receive emails with instructions to set up your NIMAA student email and sign your enrollment agreement. Please keep an eye out for these instructions as shortly after they are sent out, communications from NIMAA will begin going to your student email address.
3. Start planning for the program to begin
Planning ahead helps ensure nothing catches you off guard. You'll want to focus on:
- Enrollment deadlines: View the Program Calendar to find the enrollment period deadline for each cohort. Enrollment forms must be complete during the enrollment period for timely enrollment.
- Required documents: Check out the articles Enrollment Forms: Proof of Education and ID and Enrollment Forms: Required Immunizations to learn more about the required documents. You will have a few additional forms to review and sign in your admissions portal.
- Schedule adjustments: View the Program Calendar to start planning important dates. A few weeks prior to the start of the program, you will receive a welcome email from your instructor that includes more details of skills labs and huddle times.
- Program finances: Visit the Tuition and Fees page to view the payment schedule and other important FAQs.
Tip: Start identifying small blocks of free time in your schedule - just 10 to 15 minutes here and there. These pockets of time are great for review sessions or flash card study time and will be easier to spot if you're already used to looking for them.
This article gives a high level overview, but more details are coming your way soon. Look out for emails and videos with step-by-step guidance to help you get fully enrolled and prepared to begin your medical assistant journey!
