Graduation Requirements for the Medical Assistant Program at NIMAA

Graduating from the Medical Assistant program at NIMAA (National Institute of Medical Assistant Advancement) requires students to fulfill several academic and administrative obligations. It is imperative that students adhere to these requirements to finish the program successfully and get their certificates and transcripts.

Academic Requirements:

  1. Successful Completion of Program Courses and Core Skill Competencies
    • Students must successfully complete all program courses and demonstrate proficiency in core skill competencies. This includes both classroom and externship hours, as well as any online coursework.
  2. Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.00
    • Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 to be eligible for graduation.
  3. Minimum grade of 73%
    • Students must maintain a minimum grade of 73% in all courses.
  4. Cumulative 240 Externship Hours
    • Completion of a total of 240 externship hours is required for graduation.
  5. 100% Sign-off on Core Skills
    • Students must obtain sign-off on all core skills as outlined in the program curriculum.
  6. Credential Exam Scheduling
    • Inform your instructor about the scheduled date for your credential exam.

Administrative Requirements:

  1. Financial Standing
  2. Exit Counseling for Federal Direct Loan Borrowers
    • Students who borrowed Federal Direct Loans are required to complete exit counseling as part of their financial aid obligations.
  3. Update Contact Information
    • Ensure that your contact information, including phone number, address, and email address, is updated in the system. This is crucial for receiving your certificate by mail.
  4. Provide Picture for Graduation Slides
    • Send a picture of yourself to your instructor for inclusion in the graduation slides.
  5. Review or Update Directory Information
    • Review or update the directory information form in the system to confirm your selection. NIMAA may provide directory information to potential future employers.
  6. Updated Resume
    • Ensure that your resume is up to date.
  7. Career Services
  8. Alumni Network 

Timeline:

All graduation requirements must be completed by the end of Week 29/AMA Session 4 week.

Failure to meet any of these requirements may delay graduation. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure compliance with all graduation requirements.
