Purpose:

AMA Week is distinct from other courses. Instructors will guide students individually and in groups while engaging with all three case studies. This guide outlines a timeline and best practices to prepare instructors for a successful week.

Group Action:

  • Meet as a group to review improvements and changes from previous sessions.

Individual Action:

  • Familiarize yourself with the Populi course platform and materials.

Goal:

  • Ensure instructors understand updates and course structure.

2 Weeks Before AMA Week

Scheduled Training and Drop-in Hours (Optional, but recommended)

  • Attend sessions to ask questions, explore course tools, and clarify procedures.

Goal:

  • Provide extra support, especially for instructors new to AMA Week.

1 Week Before AMA Week

Action Items:

  • Set up Populi groups for your students.

  • Review and familiarize yourself with all case studies.

Goal:

  • Be ready to guide students effectively and ask meaningful questions in threaded discussions.

 

Week of AMA Week

Action Items:

  • AMA Week begins!

  • Guide your assigned students through group activities.

  • Monitor discussions and ask questions to deepen understanding.

Goal:

  • Support student learning while navigating the unique AMA Week structure.
