Using McGraw-Hill Connect

Using McGraw-Hill Connect

McGraw-Hill Connect, also referred to as just "Connect," is an integral part of the NIMAA curriculum. All of your textbook reading will be done in Connect. Additionally, you will do a large number of assignments in Connect in many of your courses, as well as some core skills competency checks. You will access Connect directly from within Populi. Below are instructions for:
  1. Connecting (pairing) a Populi course and Connect course the first time you access Connect from the course
  2. Logging into Connect after your account is created
  3. Accessing your textbooks in Connect

Connecting a Populi Course and Connect Course the First Time You Log In

Each time you access Connect from a course in Populi the first time, you will need to "register", which basically means that you need to pair the two courses together. Your connection with Populi will do the heavy lifting for you - you don't need to fill out any fields to register. You just need to click a few buttons, as described below:
  1. Log in to Populi.
  2. Go to a course that requires you to access McGraw-Hill Connect (e.g. Core Skills).
  3. Click on either the link to Connect in the Syllabus page (McGraw-Hill Connect - Textbook Readings, or click on the first Connect assignment either from the Assignments page or within a lesson.
The following page will display. Please note the Back to Populi link in the top right; it is an important link for you to be aware of, as you will use it frequently.
  4. Click Begin. The following page displays.

  5. Check the checkbox, and then click Create Account. The following page displays (the course listed on the right will vary based on the course you originated from in Populi).
  6. Click Complete Registration. Your account is now created in Connect, and you can access any of the assignments in this course going forward.
Note: You will need to do the same process for each subsequent course you wish to access in Connect the first time you access that course. From that point forward, your course in Populi and the course in Connect will be paired.
