Creating an audio or video response to an assignment
Some assignments may require you to submit an audio and/or video response. To do so:
- You must create the audio or video response using one of your devices, and save it.
- You then need to upload the file to the assignment for grading.
Creating the Audio or Video File
We are assuming that most NIMAA students know how to take a video with their phone or tablet using the camera. However, should you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to your instructor.
If you wish to create a video or audio file using your computer, below are instructions for doing so for different devices:
- PC:

- Creating a video file
- Mac:

- Creating a video file
Submitting the File to Your Assignment for Grading
Once you have created an audio or video response to an assignment, you need to upload it to the assignment for grading. To do so:
- Log in to Populi (https://nimaa.populiweb.com).
- Click My Courses.
- Click on the course in which you need to upload the file. Alternatively, if the assignment is due in the upcoming week, you can also click on it in the Events section of your Populi dashboard.
- Click on the Lesson containing the assignment, and then on the assignment link itself (in the example below, the assignment link is CS #1: CPR & AED).
A page displays with a large field for either dragging and dropping your file from your desktop or clicking to select the file from your file manager.
- Drag and drop the audio/video file to the field, or click in the field to select the audio/video file from your computer. The page will display the upload status, and once it is fully uploaded, the file will appear below the Submissions header, like in the example below.
- If needed, upload any additional file you need to add. You can also enter a comment to your instructor in the Comments field in the right.
Your instructor can now grade your file.
