CPR Certification Requirement for Externship

Before you can begin your externship hours, you must complete CPR training and upload your certificate. This is a required step for all students and must be completed on time to start externship in week 3.


✅ Requirement Overview

To start externship, you must:

  • Complete a 2-hour CPR course titled BLS Healthcare Providers Certification Class.

  • Upload your certificate or wallet card to the CORE Skills (CS) course.

⚠️ You cannot begin externship hours without proof of CPR completion.


📅 Deadline

  • Due: Friday of Week 2 (Intro to Clinic Week)

Failure to upload your certificate by the deadline will delay the start of your externship.

Upload your CPR certificate in:

CORE Skills (CS) Course → Week 1 Lesson


🧭 How to Complete Your CPR Training

Step 1: Access Your CPR Course

  • Access your Core Skills course

  • Navigate to the CPR page of the Week 1 Lesson: Introduction to Medical Assisting.

  • Select the BLS Healthcare Providers Certification Class link.

  • The cost of this course is included in your program tuitionDo not send payment for this required CPR course.

  • Any optional or extra courses offered by the provider will not be covered and are your responsibility.


Step 2: Complete the Course

  • Finish the full CPR/BLS training (approximately 2 hours).

  • Be sure your name appears correctly on the certificate.


Step 3: Upload Your Certificate

  • Download or screenshot your certificate or wallet card.

  • Upload it to the CORE Skills (CS) Course → Week 1 Lesson.

  • Confirm the upload is successful before the deadline.


❗ Important Notes

  • CPR certification is mandatory before externship hours can begin.

  • Late or missing uploads will prevent you from starting the externship.

  • Uploading your certificate is your responsibility.
